This lovely fixture was designed by the prominent Viennese Architect Prof. Eduard Wimmer-Wiesgrill for a Villa of the Fleischmann family.
The frame of the chandelier is made in the typical baroque technique of bars from wrought iron which are then leaf gilded and covered with glass bars. The frame also bears leaf-like decoration to give it a floral expression. These are carefully welded to the frame prior to gilding.
Unlike the baroque chandeliers this fixture does not have candle bulbs but hanging bulbs. The hanging bulbs are then covered by little lanterns made from silk. These can be made in various colours to match the overall design of the room.
